No. The companion plugin reroutes only a short-lived, signed canary test. Genuine customer enquiries stay on your normal mail path.
The next daily check runs the same full path. If it fails, SubmitCanary sends one incident email and sends a recovery email after the path passes again.
The beta supports one simple form built with Contact Form 7, WPForms (the free Lite version works) or Fluent Forms, with text, email and message fields. CAPTCHA, uploads, payments, bookings, passwords, acceptance gates and sensitive forms are refused.
An uptime monitor only checks that the page loads, so a form can be broken while it stays green. An email-log plugin such as WP Mail SMTP records whether WordPress handed an email to the mail server, from inside the site. SubmitCanary tests from the outside like a visitor: it submits the form once a day and confirms the email actually arrives at a test inbox.
Nothing during the public beta, and no credit card is needed. Paid plans are not active; their terms will be published, and active users told by email, before anyone is charged.
